Mission Statement:   
The mission of MOVE studios is to offer full body connectivity education and training to rehab patients, injury and chronic pain sufferers, Pilates enthusiasts and trainers, athletes, dancers, actors and corporations seeking to fully empower and enhance their personal and professional lives/organizations through the study, practice, and mastery of MOVEment; the philosophy that TO MOVE IS TO LIVE.

Lindsey Hanahan, CLMA/RSMT/Polestar® Certified Pilates Instructor

 


Lindsey Hanahan is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA) with a Graduate Certification in Movement Studies from the University of Utah/Integrated Movement Studies (IMS). She is also a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist through the International Somatic Movement Educators and Therapists Association (ISMETA). Lindsey added Pilates training to her repertoire starting in 2004 when she was certified privately with Donna McLean Studios and is now a Polestar™® Certified Pilates Instructor.

A Movement Analyst in the Physical Medicine & Rehab Department of Denver Injury Evaluation & Treatment Center for 6 years, Lindsey's continuing education work includes courses in lumbar stabilization (with Paul Hodges and Mark Comerford), thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), Aston Patterning, and Upper Body Stability/Mobility with Irene Dowd.

Lindsey relocated to Denver in 2001 from New York City, where she was a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, director and producer. She has taught jazz and social dance at Front Range & Red Rocks Community Colleges and Body-Wise Acting at the Denver Center Theater Academy. She was a guest teacher at the Beijing Dance Academy and the Yellow River Dance Company in China, and performed in the closing ceremonies of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Locally, she has received the Marlowe Award for her choreographic work on Next Stage Theater’s productions of Chess and Assassins (which also won the 2005 Henry Award for Best Musical). She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and is Chair of their Denver Area Liaison Committee.

As a student athlete, Lindsey’s sport of choice was track and field. As an adult she is an avid Tennis player and competes in USTA leagues in the Denver area. She also enjoys volleyball and softball, and loves working with individual and team athletes.
